SE10 wins a Hyer Breakthrough Culture Award

We are delighted to share that SE10 has clinched a third major recognition in 2024 – a place among Hyer’s top top 100 marketing and PR companies for best workplace culture. The Breakthrough Culture Awards recognises and celebrates the greatest companies to work for in the UK, honouring companies large and small for their commitment to building a progressive, people-first workplace.

The process of winning this award was intense and over 5,000 companies entered. There were a number of steps during the process which were all judged by a panel of experts including from Patagonia, Google, Atlassian, and We Group.

When asked what SE10s culture is all about, CEO Ben Shaw said, “It’s about collaboration, innovation and determination, flexibility, and creativity. But it’s also about supporting each other, understanding our personalities and focusing on what’s really important in life. I’m so proud that we’ve won this recognition, but even more proud to work with such a wonderful group of people.”

What makes SE10’s culture award-winning?

The core of SE10 is the people who work here. Over half our team has been with us for five years or more and three team members have been with us for over ten years. Our CEO Ben Shaw founded the company 22 years ago and is visible, present and gets involved with client and teamwork, at the same time as driving the business to new heights. He empowers each and every team member to make impactful decisions and execute outstanding campaigns.

A flexible approach to remote working

SE10 has three offices – one in London, one in Chicago, and one in Singapore. During 2020, each of these teams went from being fully office-based to fully remote. There was little to no impact on productivity during the shift, and so this flexible approach has remained. Now, team members are encouraged to work wherever they feel most productive – some team members have even chosen to work from different countries for some weeks or moved hundreds of miles across the UK and USA to be closer to family and friends.

Making a difference through giving back

Initiatives like Pledge 1% enable SE10 and team members to dedicate 1% of budget, time, and team to charity work. This has resulted in charity initiatives across the globe. In Singapore, Ben Shaw participated in a walk for a dementia charity. In the UK, our digital marketing manager Yasmin helped to raise £30,000 for two charities, and in the US our vice-president Damian Joseph supports a local ecology organisation.

Partnering with purpose-driven clients

The nature of our work is incredibly rewarding. We support clients to help increase awareness, understanding and buy-in of innovative technologies that often have a positive impact on the world. We are not promoting the next throw-away gadget or planet-damaging product but supporting clients as they transition to net-zero, create renewable technologies and innovations, and think about long-term resilience. SE10 is committed to its clients, colleagues, and the world at large and our team is proud to be a part of the award-winning company.
