SE10 facilitates three-pronged international press tripCreated: 06 July 15
The media spotlight shone brightly on client Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) at the end of June as the company played host to 35 journalists from the world’s leading construction magazines.
The press trip, organized with help from SE10, encompassed three major events in Volvo CE’s calendar, as well as a number of new product launches.
The journalists began the press trip in two groups. The first group flew into Gothenburg, Sweden for the final of the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-2015 and Volvo CE’s Construction Climate Challenge Summit. The latter aimed at sharing knowledge on how to reduce the construction industry’s impact on climate change. The environmental theme continued with the second group, whose tour began with a visit to Volvo CE’s articulated hauler factory in Braås, Sweden – the construction industry’s first production facility to be powered entirely renewable energy.
On the second day all journalists travelled to Volvo CE’s regional headquarters in Eskilstuna to meet with the company’s president for Europe, Middle East and Africa and experience the world-renowned Volvo Days. First held in 1958, Volvo Days is a flagship annual event, offering guests a chance to test-drive many of its machines and talk face-to-face with product specialists at the world-class Customer Center and 75ha demo field. A particular highlight for 2015 was the launch of the new G-Series wheel loaders for less regulated markets.
Account leads from SE10’s London office accompanied the journalists throughout, ensuring they felt welcomed and well-informed at all times. SE10 also assisted Volvo CE’s global and regional corporate communications departments in the planning of the event, wrote and assembled the press kits, and helped produce Q&A documents to ensure all staff who came into contact with the journalists were able to answer their questions correctly and with authority. From SE10’s perspective it was a pleasure to see guests’ genuine interest and enthusiasm for our client’s products.
